Windows Engineer

This role joins QRT’s Global Server Team to design, build, and support Microsoft Windows Server-based technology. The role is key to providing an essential service to many business areas, including research technology, trading tools, market execution, and data processing.

Your future role within QRT

• Support and optimise the Windows Server estate with multiple OS versions from 2016 to 2022
• Monitor the performance of Windows Servers
• Support and optimise the Citrix DAAS VDI, Azure, Microsoft 365 and Intune estates
• Design and support automation scripts to build, manage and maintain Windows Servers using tools such as PowerShell, Ansible and Terraform
• Windows 10 and Windows 11 build, automation and some support for VDI and Endpoints
• Automate Azure and Intune configuration and policy using PowerShell
• Assisting in planning and supporting the migration of Active Directory to a new environment
• Providing support for Active Directory on premise and Cloud integration
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability, scalability, and security of the solutions
• Provide troubleshooting support in other areas when required

Your present skillset

• Extensive experience with multiple versions of Windows Server OS
• Experience with cloud infrastructure design and support on EntraID, Azure, Microsoft 365 and Intune
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS for design and troubleshooting
• Experience with migration of Active Directory Domains and Forests, and Operating systems
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and system automation for OS builds and general infrastructure optimisation
• Experience with Autopilot and Endpoint deployments
• Experience with supporting a VDI solution on Citrix on-prem / DAAS
• Experience with monitoring and performance tuning on Windows 10 and windows 11 endpoint / vm’s
• Experience with Windows Update processes and technology and general security practice in a corporate environment
