Windows Engineer (VMware)

Our Infrastructure Specialists are responsible for keeping up with these latest and greatest of these changes and using their expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers and products.

Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Windows Engineer to help our team assess and perform upgrades of servers running critical infrastructure services within our datacenter and edge environments. This position will also work along side our Solutions Architect to develop OS standards that align with industry benchmarks (i.e. CIS) as well as our internal cyber security policies and compliance requirements. You will have the responsibility of delivering on project assignments by collaborating with cross functional IT teams. The candidate is expected to possess a strong Windows and VMware management background as well as communication and collaboration skills. The role requires you to perform infrastructure installation and implementation activities manage systems configuration changes provisioning performance management tasks maintain software/hardware solutions and help oversee the health and stability of the Windows Server environments. You will also be expected to resolve highly-complex technical issues and be fully accountable for project deliverables for this environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Demonstrate high level of knowledge in Windows Server Operating Systems
Demonstrate ability to implement and manage security settings using group policy and tools like Ansible
Demonstrate the ability to create baselines using industry standards to secure our Windows environment
Provide technical expertise on projects ensuring project activities are accurately and successfully delivered
Demonstrate ability to perform OS Upgrades which includes assessment planning communication and execution.
Utilize Scrum and Jira to track and report progress on projects
The ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines
Ability to create dashboards in Service NOW or other tools to provide visibility to the health of our Windows Server environment.
Provide ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization as required
Provide engineering support to our IT operations team and handle escalations from the team to resolve critical issues in the virtual infrastructure environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
English C1
Monitor and manage virtual infrastructure platforms and their associated components verifying the integrity and availability of all software and hardware resources
Provide technical expertise on projects ensuring project activities are accurately and successfully delivered
Utilize Scrum and Jira to track and report progress on projects
Demonstrate high level of knowledge in VMWare solutions including vSphere vSAN vCenter VCF NSX-T vRealize Suite and Skyline.
Demonstrate ability to support the implementation and integration of backup solution (Avamar) and our disaster recovery solution (Zerto).
The ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines
Ability to create dashboards in vRealize Operations to provide reporting on resource utilization capacity planning and show-back reporting.
Ability to use Cloud Templates and Terraform to automate virtual infrastructure operations using vRealize Automation and Orchestrator.
Provide ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization as required
Provide engineering support to our IT operations team and handle escalations from the team to resolve critical issues in the virtual infrastructure environment.
