OVERVIEW & IMPACT:

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is searching for wireless modem RF embedded software engineer at all levels. Candidate will join a diverse team working on design, implementation and testing of our next generation of chipsets (5G and beyond) with the specific role of supporting embedded software development for advanced control and algorithms for RFIC. Samsung multi-mode modem chipsets for 2G/3G/4G/5G have been commercialized in millions of smart devices including Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets and we are now on track to bring advanced 5G chipset solutions to market.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, implement and validate embedded software on hardware targets with RISC architecture for 5G mmWave technologies.
• Work closely with systems and hardware engineers to develop an architecture and implementation of FW and SW that meets system requirements for 3GPP 5G NR modem RFIC.
• Design test suites and validation plan of algorithms utilizing RF subsystems.
• Develop efficient, scalable and commercial quality software to be deployed in next generation devices.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:

• C/C++ coding skills and embedded programming on RISC based development platforms.
• RFIC or other embedded application software experience in MIPI control, ARM/microprocessor programming, code & memory optimization techniques.
• Knowledge and experience of embedded systems, hardware abstraction layer and system software are required. Experience/familiarity with RISC-V architecture is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and presentation skills.
• Lab testing experience using equipment such as signal generators, analyzers, mobile test phone platforms etc.
• BS + 3 years of exp | MS + 1 year of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
