This position is for a Work and Family Life Specialist assigned to the Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP); Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); Fleet Activities Chinhae, Korea. FFSP is the Navy's primary agency for the delivery of an array of human services programs intended to enhance the stability and self-sufficiency of individuals and families, resulting in increased operational readiness.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a state driver's license.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position OR
- Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, or at least one year of experience at the GS-8 or NF-3 (or equivalent) level with Work and Family Life Programs. OR
- Combination of education and specialized experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field

Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position include:
- Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns and issues and provide assistance to develop goals and plans, in order to determine appropriate referral services and options.
- Skill in preparation of presentations and public speaking in personal-large and small group settings. Effective skill in forming and retaining working relationships with peers and leadership.
- Skill in using various computer database, spreadsheet, word processing, and network programs (e.g., as Internet, Microsoft Office Suite, and FFSP databases.)
- Knowledge of the formulation and execution of needs assessment tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Education
Proof of education MUST be uploaded at time of application for consideration. If degree is not conferred, applicant MUST provide a copy of high school diploma or equivalent with college transcripts.
When education is a basic requirement for the position, or when substituting education for experience, applicants MUST submit a copy of high school transcripts, college transcript, or a list of courses which includes grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and/or semester hours earned as part of the application package. Foreign education must include evidence that it is comparable to education received at accredited educational institutions in the United States.
All substitutions of education for experience will be made in accordance with OPM approved qualification standards.

Additional information
- Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
- Works under direct supervision of the Fleet and Family Support Office (FFSO) Manager, Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae. Work is performed independently with the FFSO Manager kept informed of the progress of Work and Family Life programs, events, training, and schedules, and when major or unusual problems arise.
- Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
- Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required.
- Salary is dependent on experience and education.
- Selectees initially recruited from the United States or who are already on a Transportation Agreement will be entitled to transportation and moving costs for themselves and their family members. Household goods may be shipped and a housing allowance is paid to cover monthly housing and utility costs.
- Compensation includes base pay, a Post Allowance which is a non-taxable (federal) allowance based on the Korean won rate exchange, and a Living Quarters Allowance sufficient to pay for a housing unit within close proximity of the naval base. You may also ship and store your household goods. These and other benefits are available to those personnel hired on an overseas transportation agreement.
