We’re excited to announce the launch of Work Trials at Clipboard Health. Work Trials are compensated long term interviews for our Growth Team.

The Work Trial is an compensated long term application with an opportunity to be an entrepreneur with a financial safety net. You will not be an employee of Clipboard Health during the trial - you’ll be a contractor that is responsible for figuring everything out without the direct support of Clipboard Health.

Success during a work trial will usually yield two rewards: a job offer and variable compensation for the business you’ve built during the Work Trial. You’ll also gain some intangible benefits: you’ll gain confidence in your ability to make things happen and learn a bit more about what it’s like to be an entrepreneur.

We at Clipboard are launching Work Trials to accomplish a handful of things:

• Give job applicants an opportunity to prove their capability over a longer time horizon than a case

• Remove the deadweight losses created by cases. Candidates spend time and effort to produce work that has no business value

• Create an entrepreneurial opportunity while providing a financial safety net

• Enable Clipboard to launch new lines of business without a constraint on hiring.

We see this as a win-win. Today the number of labor marketplaces we can spin up is limited by how quickly we can attract and identify talent. Our hiring process is intensive. Within the process we’ve made the intentional decision to accept that we’ll have some false negatives in exchange for making fewer mishires (false positives). Work Trials will help provide another pathway to land a role at Clipboard. Candidates have the chance to prove that they are capable and be financially rewarded for producing meaningful outcomes for Clipboard’s ambition.

The Work Trial is an opportunity for you to go out and build your own business with Clipboard's support. There’s only one constraint on the business you build: we want it to be labor marketplace related. We believe labor marketplaces uniquely align with our mission of helping people move up the socioeconomic ladder.
