Workday HRIS Analyst II

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Analyst II is responsible for supporting the Workday HRIS platform for the Human Resources department and key business areas through application knowledge and departmental business workflows. The candidate will optimize the Workday platform by researching new functionality, recommending process improvements, and will lead a systematic process for capturing requirements and works with HR partners to capture requirements in a standard format that will serve as the technical documentation. The HRIS Analyst II will assist, diagnose, and troubleshoot advanced Workday application support issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Acts as a super-user for Workday HRIS System. Provides advanced technical support to employees associated with the use and operation of Workday.
  • Train HRIS Analyst I team members on the core Workday application and assist them with resolving Workday issues.
  • Analyze reported Workday issues and documented solutions, identify problem areas, devise, and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems or repeat issues.
  • Prepares and maintains technical documentation including flow charts, use cases, functional specifications, data models, user guides, and reporting to assist with the ongoing operation and maintenance of assigned Workday modules.
  • Enforce and improve request handling and escalation policies and procedures. Enforce service levels agreements in consultation with Workday management to establish problem resolution expectations and timeframes.
  • Works with Senior HRIS Analyst to partner with Human Resources and other departments in the organization to identify and document project requirements and scope, while making recommendations on optimization opportunities.
  • Works with the Senior HRIS Analyst to perform the review, testing, documenting, and implementation of system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Produce organized and informative documentation, including details of current process, requirements, testing, configuration, and implementation.
  • Maintains business process, condition rules, grid configurations, templates and other functionality for assigned module area of support.
  • Executes audit reports proactively to help key users to audit and maintain data integrity, ensuring maximum system performance.
  • Reviews content of weekly service updates and assess impact or recommendation for addition to the project plan for future enhancement.
  • Writes and maintains reports using Report Writer functionality for assigned functional areas.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Workday platform and assigned modules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
  • Four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education, significant relevant experience in HRIS or Workday).


EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience
  • 5+ years of Workday HCM or equivalent HRIS platform experience designing business processes, process mapping, working to support large process and improvement initiatives
  • Financial services industry experience preferred


SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead small technical Workday projects.
  • Effectively work with others including various levels of management, internal employees, external contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to work in a change-filled environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Advanced Excel experience working with large data sets utilizing formulas and functionality.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and apply common systems troubleshooting techniques to system errors and system responses. Utilize out-of-the-box thinking to identify external interactions between Workday and other systems to advance troubleshooting progress.
  • Strong customer service commitment.
  • Interpersonal skills including collaborative style and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently on small projects.
  • Must be an active user of Workday Community to increase knowledge and skills related to the various subject matter areas of HR.
  • Able to elicit requirements for process, system and integration design from technical staff and non-technical end users through well-developed communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and manage unstructured tasks within specific guidelines and time constraints.
  • The ability to track and interface with third party vendors and push issues to resolution required.
