Workday's Public Cloud Infrastructure Team is a diverse group of software developers, site reliability engineers (SREs), and operations experts who work together to ensure our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and highly available.

Our focus on automation means that we constantly strive to streamline processes and reduce manual effort, allowing us to focus on delivering innovative solutions that drive business value. Our team is constantly exploring new technologies and methodologies to improve our processes and systems.

About the Role

As an Public Cloud SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled engineers working with teams in multiple locations and timezones. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Google Cloud infrastructure. Your role will be critical in maintaining the availability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-based systems and services.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Extensive experience in managing and leading a team of SRE or DevOps engineers in a fast-paced, cloud-based environment.

• Good understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP protocols, and security best practices within an AWS or GCP environment.

• Strong knowledge and previous hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda and similar in GCP.

• Proficient in infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Other Qualifications:

• Solid experience with incident management and post-mortem processes, employing root cause analysis to drive improvements.

• Thorough understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in multiple locations and timezones

• AWS or GCP certifications, such as AWS Certified solutions Architect or GCP professional cloud architect.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $129,600 - $194,400

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $123,100 - $231,100
