A Brief Summary of This Position:
This individual contributor position executes Valmont's HRIS Workday processes and oversees data integrity, daily activities, audits, and supports Human Resources, Benefits, and Compensation. You ensures the vision for the HR organization is supported by its information technology platforms and the processes established are efficient and support core HR responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
- You will report to the Director of Human Resources Information Systems and has no direct or indirect reports
- Flexible schedule but will work in the office one day per week
- Perform production support approximately 70% of the time, which includes processing support tickets and other daily HRIS system maintenance
- Help process information and transactions in Workday
- Initiate Workday business processes; partners with HR site support to ensure complete data transactions(?) and timeliness of process initiation and completion
- Investigate and provide resolution on system transaction issues that arise
- Support both employees and HR with employee self-service, both domestic and international
- Ensure data integrity by performing regular audits on employee data and coordinate with the site Human Resources groups to correct errors and issues
- Support the review, testing, and documentation of system upgrades and new functionality
- Help develop training materials
- Collaborate with functional and technical partners on application upgrades and system changes
- Analyze data from tickets and transactions and identify trends
- Identify training opportunities for team members
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained in the maintenance and dissemination of this sensitive information
- Write and support a variety of basic reports or queries to meet customer needs
Other Important Details about the Role:
- Customer service focus with attention to detail
- Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development
- Contribute to a positive relationship with internal customers and external service providers to accomplish these tasks timely, accurately, and professionally
- Perform and coordinate special projects as assigned and monitor strict deadlines to ensure timeliness
- Use some project management skills in managing projects
What It Takes:
- Bachelors in relevant field or Associates Degree with 3+ years of experience or 5+ years of experience
- Basic knowledge of HR systems and web enabled databases
- Knowledge of HRIS report writing tools
HighlyQualified Candidates Will Also Possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
- Previous Workday experience
- Previous HR Generalist experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability with other MS Office applications

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. You are required to sit for extended periods of time, and talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. You are frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with multiple files and forms and while working on the computer. You are occasionally required to move about the office. You must use proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
