Workplace Operations Associate

About The Role

Fivetran is looking for an organized and energetic Workplace Operations Associate to manage the day-to-day workplace operations of our Oakland, California office. In this role you will partner with vendors and other service partners, work with property management and building engineers, resolve employee requests, as well as assist in the planning and execution of events. What You'll Do

• Assist in the day-to-day office operations running smoothly at our Oakland, California office, overseeing all building functions, maintaining strong relationships with property management
• You understand your daily office presence is necessary to ensure the office is a great place to work for employees (in office, 5 days per week)
• Support Fivetran’s Hybrid Workplace strategy, recognizing the importance of providing an equitable experience for employees who work from home and come to the office
• Assist with the quality of service levels, coordinating maintenance, shipping, lunches, snacks, janitorial, hot desking, event services, etc.
• As part of the Workplace Experience team, communicate office policies and procedures
• Address employee requests with a high degree of customer service to ensure our environment is productive, fun, inclusive and stimulating
• Communicate program and policy information with regular updates on Slack and our company Wiki
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
• Partner with stakeholders such as executive assistants, managers, and the larger Workplace Operations team to execute an internal onsite events program
• Manage the mail room and office supplies
• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Ensure all common areas, hallways, restrooms, and rooms, are clean, sanitized, and presentable throughout the day.
• Trash Removal: Empty trash bins and recycling containers regularly, maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in all areas.
• Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop and/or spot clean floors as needed to keep them free from debris, spills, and stains.
• Surface Cleaning: Wipe down and sanitize surfaces such as desks, countertops, tables, doors and windows
• Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures, and restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
• Supply Management: Monitor and replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and cleaning products in restrooms and other common areas.
• Coffee and Snacks: Prepare and maintain coffee machines, ensuring they are clean and stocked with fresh coffee, filters, and condiments. Additionally, replenish snack supplies and organize snack areas as needed.

Skills We're Looking For

• Minimum of 2-4 years relevant work experience and 6 month experience at Fivetran.  Ideally with an emphasis on workplace operations in a fast paced, ever changing environment
• Proactive team player and culture champion with proven ability to multitask and prioritize
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you are at ease interacting with all levels of the organization including peers, managers, and executives
• Must have strong people skills: customer service orientation, patience, ability to interact with all levels of the org including the ELT
• A passion for building communities, making workplaces operate seamlessly, and delivering an amazing customer service experience to employees & guests
• Must have basic business software skills: Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, etc), or Office 365 and comfortable using Slack, email, Slab, etc.
• Willingness to take on ad hoc projects, as needed
