Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 1,700 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana and offices in Jersey City, Seattle, Hong Kong, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo. 

We’re looking for a World Coin Researcher to join our Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) team to identify and research world coins. 

You’ll report to the World Coin Manager and work from our Santa Ana, CA office. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Work in a collaborative environment to identify World Coins 
• Provide research as needed to identify unique, or previously unidentified coins.
• Add unidentified coin data in our databases.
• Help maintain coin and coin image databases.

Who You Are:

• Detailed oriented with good reasoning skills and judgment.
• Critical thinker who is comfortable problem solving in ambiguous situations.
• Able to decipher texts and symbols found on coins from all over the World.
• Have a basic understanding of geography and World history.
• Work well in both a team environment and independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
• Bending neck and using hands throughout the day.
• Lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
• Work with an XRF scanner to test metal content

Hourly Range: The reasonable estimated hourly rate for this position is $18.50. Actual compensation varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience and skill set.
