Yahoo Sports Director of Social Media

Yahoo Sports connects fans to the sports and fantasy games they love most, providing personalized quality content and superior fan experiences every day.
Responsibilities:
• Set social media strategy for Yahoo Sports with focus on creating engaging, original content.• Manage team of social-media creative leads and programmers.
• Act as liaison for Yahoo Sports with major social-media platforms: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube.
• Lead conceptualization of original content for social programming.• Work with sport editors to develop and leverage social following of Yahoo Sports' editorial and video talent.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum six years of experience in digital media.
• Minimum three years of management experience.
• Proven creative mindset with passion for cultivating innovation among team members.
• Deep understanding of audience habits of major social media platforms: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Facebook.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Project management experience.
• Willingness to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product and sales.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of major professional and college sports.
• Ability to decipher social analytics, identify trends and explain data to team members.
• Experience coordinating social content for major sports tentpole events, including Super Bowl, NCAA tournament, World Cup and Olympics.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends, as needed.

The compensation for this position ranges from $129,210.00 - $281,305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
