POSITION PURPOSE:

The Yard Associate performs Dock Duties, Housekeeping and Grounds keeping duties, as well as safety inspections for the branch using an established check out list. Ensures all Briggs Equipment standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Coordinate incoming and outgoing equipment, including but not limited to loading and unloading equipment, attachments, batteries and charges at the loading dock.
2. Monitor the status of all new equipment, to include parking the equipment in a designated area, checking safety related items and listing the bin location number on incoming documentation.
3. Maintain inventory control sheet by tagging equipment appropriately.
4. Perform inspections on equipment prior to delivery, to include checking safety items.
5. Monitor the flow of all new, used, and rental equipment in the branch.
6. Partner with managers to ensure all outgoing delivery documentation is accurate.
7. Perform basic building maintenance and safety inspections around the branch.
8. Ensure cleanliness of dock by:

1. • Checking for trash and hazardous items in the area
   • Ensuring floors are cleaned with scrubber in the warehouse
   • Keeping block containers maintained
   • Maintaining forklifts in proper aisles
   • Emptying garbage in all key areas

1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

minimum qualifications

Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

• Excellent Customer Service and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Thorough knowledge of all systems, procedures, techniques, equipment, operations, standards and reports that apply to transportation operations

Previous Experience/Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Potential to perform basic maintenance
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to safely operate equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Must furnish own tools
