As an Intern with the Risk Management Team, you will gain exposure to a wide range of technical and operational opportunities in our Risk Management department. You will also acquire critical insight into our company and our industry, as well as have the chance to develop valuable networking connections, which will help prepare and develop your skills for future career opportunities. The Risk Management intern reports to the Manager Qualitative Risk and Compliance.

This internship opportunity requires a commitment from you of at least 3 days in person for the upcoming Spring 2023 semester (January-May). You will work no more than 20 hours per week while classes are in session, with the possibility of more hours during your winter and summer breaks.

For this position, you are committing to an internship duration of at least May 12th, 2023, with the possibility of extension.

Areas of key focus for you:

• Verifying, reconciling, and updating accounts.
• Analyzing counterparty credit worthiness, including the preparation of credit reviews.
• Monitoring National Grid's credit exposure and daily risk control processes.
• Daily margining with counterparties and brokers.
• Record keeping and financial statement analysis Work with Excel (formulas are necessary, macros and VBAs are a plus) and Word.
• Perform daily reporting and assist with quarterly financial reporting

What You'll Need

• Pursuing a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, International Business and/or Taxation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with SQL a plus
• Be at least 18 years of age and accumulated 18 or more credits
• Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
• Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing your education full-time for the Spring 2023 Semester
• Located within a commutable distance of your Hicksville, NY work location

Salary Range

$19.00 - $25.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student)

$28.00- $33.00 an hour (Graduate Student)

Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year.
