The GW Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) is a not-for-profit, physician-led practice group that has grown to become the largest independent academic physician practice in the Washington, DC metro region. With over 500 physicians and nearly 200 APP providers, MFA offers comprehensive patient care across 52 medical and surgical specialties. MFA physicians are also teachers and mentors for medical students, residents, fellows, and researchers. The MFA has a strong alliance with The George Washington University and The George Washington University Hospital, and active referring relationships with 12 area hospitals. The MFA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for a full-time opportunity at the GW Rhode Island Ave, DC location. The Nurse Practitioner will perform clinical patient care services, including evaluation, problem identification, history and physical examination, writing prescriptions, ordering and interpreting tests, monitoring patient status, documenting findings, recommending therapeutic interventions, interacting with consultants, providing patient education and counseling, and supervising NP, PA, health science, and medical students. The Nurse Practitioner will also perform procedures for which they are credentialed and participate in daily team rounding, M&M sessions, and department conferences/teaching opportunities.
