The grade determination is based on the level of education, with GS-3 requiring 1 year of post-high school study, GS-4 requiring 2 years or an associate's degree, and GS-5 requiring the final semester of the junior year. Preferred criteria include a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Physical requirements include heavy lifting, straight pulling and pushing, reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, walking, standing and kneeling, and rapid mental and muscular coordination.
