The role involves managing and protecting Diageo's IP portfolio across various markets, assisting with trade mark clearance, prosecution, registration, and renewals. The successful candidate will work closely with marketing and innovation teams, specialist IP law firms globally, and internal/external legal counsel in different time zones. Key responsibilities include conducting clearance searches, filing trade mark applications, managing data input, reviewing advertising materials, and providing IP support to the Brand Protection team. The ideal candidate should be a qualified lawyer with 3-5 years PQE in IP, preferably from a reputable law school, with experience in contested IP proceedings. Comprehensive knowledge of trade mark law and working knowledge of copyright, patent, and trade secret protection are required.
