This 36-bed Orthopedic Medical Surgical unit specializes in the care of

patients, trauma stepdown, and patients admitted through the ED. Our care is driven by our mission
and core values at CHRISTUS. The department promotes a team atmosphere with a focus on
patient-centered care. Our team works very closely with Beaumont Bone and Joint, our Physical
Therapy department, and an in-housed Nurse Practitioner to provide an exceptional level of
post-surgical care. The Physical Therapy Department is a neighboring unit also located on the 6th
floor, just down the hall. Physical Therapy rounds on all Orthopedic patients twice a day on our
unit. We offer flexible scheduling and an engaging environment by promoting education and leadership
among our team. A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care
through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition,
