Job Description

Summary This position is located at McCoy's which includes Dining, Sports Bar, Bowling, Recreation and Leisure Activities and Conference and Catering Spaces. McCoy's Team provides high-quality service and a place to unwind for the Ft McCoy Community. This is an open continuous announcement to provide a ready pool of available applicants as needed. List will be issued at managements request throughout the announcement timeframe. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Duties Performs a variety of tasks involving several steps or sequences of tasks that require attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. Prepares and combines fruits and vegetables for salads. Makes simple sandwiches and performs other simple food preparation. Responsible for proper slicing of deli meats and cheeses and cutting of fruits and vegetables for garnish. In accordance with customer orders, processes and organizes food, arranges garnishes, checks for appearance, quality and quantity and ensures proper presentation in accordance with set standards. Prepares and cooks food on the grill, fryer and pizza station. Cleans kitchen utensils, pots, pans, storage containers, as well as sweeping and mopping the floor. Restocks storeroom, walk in refrigerator/freezer, front line refrigerators, freezers, coolers, and dry goods. Operates a cash register. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position to include a physical. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Light to heavy physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds. Subject to continuous standing and walking and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Satisfactory completion of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually. Uniforms and name tags are provided and required. Work may be indoors and outdoors. Must be 18 years of age by appointment date to meet state requirements. Operation is 7 days a week, schedule will be based on the needs of the activity. Subject to an irregular tour of duty. Early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays are required. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Meet state requirement to perform job duties Possess math skills necessary to calculate patrons bills and take inventory Have the ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and possess basic math skills In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": One year experience in Food Service One year cooking experience (ie. restaurant, mess hall, line cook, etc.) Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility. Flexible positions are not entitled to benefits at this time. Pay may be set between the bottom and top of the advertised rate. Credit may be given for NAF time in grade but most new appointees pay will be set at the bottom of the pay rate for each level.
