Summary DCSA is looking for an Investigative Assistant (IA) in Federal Investigative Records Enterprise (FIRE) Automated Federal Leads Center (AFLC) located in Fort Meade, MD or Boyers, PA to conduct and report a variety of electronic record checks and a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of the program. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis. If selected, the incumbent must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as indicated in job announcement. See: Compliance Inspection and Support Series 1802 (opm.gov) for OPM qualification standards, competencies and specialized experience needed to perform the duties of the position as described in the MAJOR DUTIES and QUALIFICATIONS sections of this announcement by 12/16/2024 Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-04) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience, education, or a combination thereof. Specialized experience for this position includes: Clerical or technical experience that includes organizing information, maintaining data base records (entering, searching for, retrieving, editing and deleting data) using word processing and basic spreadsheet software reviewing basic documents (employment applications, claims for benefits, loan applications, contracts, or investigative forms) for accuracy and completeness, or have successfully completed four years of post-high-school education. OR Completion of four-years of post-high-school education. OR A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Customer Service-Works and communicates with clients and customers (e.g., any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit provides, including individuals who work in your agency or in other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to satisfy their expectations. Manages and Organizes Information- Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods. 3.Oral Communication- Expresses ideas and facts to individuals or groups effectively; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others; facilitates an open exchange of ideas. 4. Reasoning- Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions. 5.Teamwork- Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity; fosters commitment and team spirit; works with others to achieve goals. Education If substituting education for experience at the GG-05 level, you must have successfully completed four years of post-high-school education. If substituting or combining education for experience, transcripts MUST be provided. Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions.
