Prepares and serves food items, handles cash and records, and maintains a clean work area. Works independently, follows safety and food handling procedures, and provides good customer service. Requires standing, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working safely in food service areas.
Duties
DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all of the following duties on a recurring basis:Prepares and serves food items which include, but are not limited to, hot dogs, nachos, chips, candy, lemonade drinks, etc. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records. Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Skill and Knowledge: Able to work alone. Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Know simple food handling techniques. Able to work safely. Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time. Able to use simple arithmetic.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Receives verbal and written assignments. Is expected to work as scheduled and to know what steps are needed to complete the work. Accomplishes work on own initiative. Work is evaluated for accuracy, promptness and good customer relations.
PHYSICAL EFFORTS:
Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40. Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat. Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas.

All required background checks of AR215 -3, Chapter 2, paragraph 213: i. must be satisfactory completed and maintained to include the initiation/completion of Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
One year probationary period may be required
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold a valid U.S. passport, and be at least 18 years of age.
A pre-employment physical is required
Must be willing to work irregular work schedule (nights/weekends/holidays)
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages. Certificate of Medical Examination required.
Qualifications
RESUMES MUST BE TWO PAGES (OR LESS). QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must have one year of post-high school experience in the hospitality industry or one year of post-high school education.
Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education. Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks.
All answers to the Highly Qualifying Criteria must be demonstrated in your resume to get credit.
Education
High School graduate or equivalent.

Additional information
This is a limited tenure position not to exceed 15 months. It is an unaccompanied program because we cannot provide logistical support to family members. Dorm-style housing is provided in lieu of a living quarters allowance. Transportation to and from Germany is provided in accordance with the terms of the Joint Travel Regulation and the executed transportation agreement. Military spouses and family members currently residing within the Garmisch Military Community who apply under this announcement will be considered for a regular appointment.

The Duty Station for this position is located at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, Garmisch, Germany. You will be expected to physically reside within commuting distance.
