Summary This is a position in the Clinical Center Nursing Department Sterile Processing Service (SPS) as a Lead Medical Supply Technician in the Clinical Center, Nursing Department (CCND). The Lead Medical Supply Technician is considered to be at the advanced performance level with respect to sterile processing. The Lead will serve as the subject matter expert to guide staff through the proper procedures. The incumbent will provide guidance and technical direction for accomplishing the team's work. If selected, you must pass a pre-employment medical examination. Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. This position requires nights, holidays, and weekend shifts. The Lead Medical Supply Technician primary shift is M-F 2:30pm-11:00pm. May be required to work other shifts as needed. Qualifications You qualify at the GS-08 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: leading staff members and managing workflow; processing, assembling, cleaning, preparing, sterilizing, storing, and issuing sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment; testing medical equipment to determine if its operating correctly after having been cleaned and reassembled; and examining sterilized trays; sets, packs, and equipment from the sterilizer to ensure adherence to organizational manufacturing quality control procedures.
