Summary About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of Surgery, Audiology Services, Honolulu, Hawaii. Duties At the full performance (GS-7) level you will perform the duties below, but not limited to the following: Responsible for providing comprehensive health services for the Hearing Conservation Program for the installation and all test sites which operate Defense Occupational Health and Environmental Readiness System - Hearing Conservation equipment. Ensure that test sites are adequately staffed for the mission with personnel and supplies. Prepare documents, letters of instruction, and other correspondence regarding implementation and compliance in a time sensitive manner. Coordinate coverage, inspectors, and final reports for installation-level inspection programs. Evaluate program effectiveness using current unit compliance metrics and assigned strength data. Use automated systems to manage and monitor approximately 25,000 military and civilian personnel routinely exposed to hazardous noise levels. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series. This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
