Interdisciplinary Position (Project Manager)

Summary About the Position: Serves as Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned programs and projects. Ability to exercise project management methods/techniques applied to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or environmental cleanup and compliance programs. Duties Responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned programs and projects. Implements corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy in the development of the project and intermediate products in support of assigned programs. Coordinates the planning, design, and construction for projects of normal scope and complexity as measured by their diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and public/regulatory issues. Controls and manages project milestones and budgets. Serves as the district's primary point of contact for projects assigned with customer, Federal, state, and local government agencies, Congressional interests, other external organizations, and higher authorities. Preparation of environmental impact analysis documentation such as Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Records Environmental Consideration (RECs). Interpret regulations from higher echelons, the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and local agencies to determine the potential impact to programs and activities. Reviewing environmental program operations to determine policy deficiencies and necessary changes. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Temporary duty (TDY) travel is approximately 30% Incumbent must have or be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a driver's license in one of the 50 US states or possessions and any installation and/or DoD requirement. This position may require you to obtain a Government passport for foreign TDY travel. Specialized Experience for the GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes managing scope, schedule, and budget of Civil Works projects.
