Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competititve Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: ???????Ice Harbor Project is a multi-purpose hydropower project, with missions including operation and maintenance of the facility for flood control, hydro power generation with six main generating units, navigation locks, fish facility, recreation, and natural resource management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience;

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Utility Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. Perform the majority of the duties of a Utility Worker at a large industrial facility supporting journey level crafts workers such as assembling and passing tools, carrying tools and equipment, sorting and rough placement of materials, cleaning, sorting and replacing parts and materials; cleaning and storing tools and equipment with dependability and reliability. Also have the ability to operate light motor vehicles and boats. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent arm and leg movement to operate equipment; must frequently handle equipment and materials. Frequently lifts and carries equipment and supplies up to, and occasionally over, 45 pounds. Work requires prolonged standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, pushing and kneeling. Is subject to strains from lifting and pulling heavy objects.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is done inside and outside. Inside work is often in dim, damp, cold areas. Outside work frequently requires exposure to hot sun and to bad weather. Discomfort is experienced while wearing protective clothing, shoes, respirators, goggles, gloves, or face masks. There is danger from falls when working at heights, i.e., on scaffolding and ladders; injury from use of power and hand tools, danger of electric shock, and danger of drowning. Is subject to cuts, bruises, and is exposed to noise, dust and fumes. Must wear appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing, and successfully complete and maintain all occupational health requirements.
