FOOD SERVICE WORKER (BARISTA)

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fall Hall Community Center on F. E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, WY. This position is considered Flexible with a guarantee of zero hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. Not eligible for leave or benefits. The starting pay for this position is set by Federal pay setting regulations at $17.70 per hour. Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operates limited coffee operation. Prepares a limited variety of hot beverages such as cappuccinos, brewed coffees, lattes, espressos, hot chocolate and etc. by selecting proper ingredients and following recipe. Serves mixed beverages such as iced coffees, fruit drinks, smoothies and etc. by selecting proper ingredients and following recipe. Serves other cold beverages and food items such as soda, juice, cookies, muffins, pastries and etc. Serves patrons directly, receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons. Sets up work area for operations and obtains cash bank. Maintains that work area is neat and clean. Sets up/cleans tables for customers and replenishes condiment items and stocks as necessary. Sets up and operates dishwasher, performs preventative maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours glassware, dishes and utensils as required. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks as required as follows: coffee machines, ceilings, under and behind equipment, refrigerators, washes floors and walls, sanitizes garbage cans and etc. May unload and organize stock from delivery truck. Collects/transfers trash from work area to disposal area Assists with inventories, identifies items for re-ordering. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability. Physical Effort: Requires frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing over 25 pounds. Continuous standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending. Use of a ladder/step stool, power cleaning equipment may be required. This position has a physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from hire date or assignment to position. Qualifying Experience: Must have knowledge of proper sanitation standards in handling and serving food. Must have experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures in the proper use of hand tools for cleaning and simple tasks. Must be able to communicate clearly with customers, and possess skill in dealing with the public. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
