Accountant

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveAccountantto join our finance team and support the operations of our growing business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing regular reconciliations, managing compliance filings, and supporting the company in financial reporting and business administration. This role is critical to ensuring the financial health, compliance, and scalability of our stores. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Financial Records · Record daily transactions, including sales, purchases, vendor invoices, payroll, and other expenses in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Restaurant365). · Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely posting of journal entries. · Track accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments and customer receivables. Banking & Reconciliation · Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple store accounts. · Reconcile merchant accounts (Square, DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.) with POS and sales records. · Monitor cash deposits, petty cash usage, and credit card transactions. Tax Compliance & Filings · Prepare and filesales taxreturns across multiple states on a timely basis. · Assist infederal and state income tax compliance, including coordinating with external CPA firms. Business Registration & Compliance · Prepare and fileannual reports, business licenses, and franchise renewalswith state and local agencies. · Maintain compliance with corporate registrations, BOI reports, and other regulatory filings. · Support the opening of new store entities, including EIN registration, bank account setup, and vendor onboarding. Financial Analysis & Reporting · Assist in preparingmonthly P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statementsby store and consolidated. · Track COGS, operating expenses, and provide variance analysis against budget. · Support management with ad hoc financial analysis for decision-making. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. · 2–4 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in retail, food & beverage, or multi-entity environments. · Proficiency withQuickBooks (or other accounting software), Excel, and POS system integrations. · Knowledge of U.S.GAAP, sales tax, payroll, and business compliance filings. · Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple store accounts. · Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. · CPA or progress toward CPA a plus but not required.
