Onapsis seeks a self-motivated, curious, and analytical thinker who is seeking an opportunity for exposure to all aspects of the full accounting cycle. As an Accounting Manager, you'll be on a small Finance team reporting directly to the Vice President within an enterprise technology company, alongside daily interactions with the CFO. This role will provide great exposure and development opportunities in a growing company.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive the month-end global close process, which includes consolidation, trial balance review, and financial statement preparation (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, statement of equity)
- Apply the concepts of ASC 606 revenue recognition as they relate to SaaS revenue recognition and disclosures
- Research and document complex accounting technical matters
- Improve internal controls and general accounting processes and practices
- Collaborate with teams on monthly variance analysis including preparing the summary of monthly financial results provided to management
- Contribute to the annual budget preparation process and corresponding financial modelling
- Participate in year-end audit process with the external auditors including generation of footnotes to the audited financials
- Perform other ad hoc analyses as necessary
Requirements:
- 6–8-year mix of public accounting and enterprise SaaS software company experience, at least 5 years of which have been progressive roles working with financial statement generation
- Big 4 (desired) or other large accounting firm experience a must
- CPA required
- Considerable experience with software revenue recognition accounting/ASC 606
- Prior NetSuite experience required
- Advanced Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs, IF functions, and charting)
- Technical accounting acumen with ability to document policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP standards
- Ability to work independently, develop next steps, and identify when to escalate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
