Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to mentor and lead a team of accounting professionals. Responsibilities • Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records. • Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights into cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other relevant securities laws. • Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development within the team. • Lead audits and prepare necessary documentation for external auditors. • Collaborate with other departments to support financial management initiatives. • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, and Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions. • Maintain knowledge of non-profit accounting practices as well as governmental accounting standards when applicable. Skills • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and accrual accounting. • Proficiency in financial report writing and interpretation, ensuring clarity in communication of financial data. • Experience with corporate finance practices including private equity management and technical accounting issues. • Familiarity with tax experience related to various entities • Ability to perform account analysis, bank reconciliation, journal entries, payroll processing, and auditing tasks effectively. • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial analysis and regulatory reporting requirements. • Strong mentoring skills to guide team members in their professional growth within the field of accounting.
