Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for an AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), T5303P01 and is part of the Oregon Air National Guard 142d Wing, National Guard.

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

- Federal employment suitability required and determined by a background investigation before appointment to position.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain the necessary security clearance for the position. Must have at a minimum a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; shift work and/or overtime may be required. Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
- TEMPORARY - NTE 1 year. This position is temporary unless funding is available and extension is approved by HR, or the position converts to indefinite or permanent status. Selectee may convert to Indef or Perm status without further competition.
Qualifications
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1: All on board permanent and indefinite T5 federal employees within the Oregon National Guard
Area 2: All on board permanent and indefinite T32 federal technicians within the Oregon National Guard
Area 3: All current non-permanent technicians/employees (T5 and T32) of the Oregon National Guard
Area 4: All current and former members of the Oregon National Guard (former members must provide documentation showing membership in the Oregon National Guard such as an NGB 22 or DD214)
Area 5: U.S. citizens
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-0301-07 level in duties that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-0301-07) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.
To Qualify for this Position, You Must Have:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-0301-07 level in duties that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.
OR
B. Masters or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours will be considered as satisfying the one year of full-time study requirement. (NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts to verify your education).
OR
C. A combination of experience as described in "A" above and education as described in "B" above.

Education
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.
Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience are not required to have education above the high school level.

Additional information

1. A copy of your DD-214, "Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty," which shows dates of service and discharge under
honorable conditions.

4. If claiming 10 point preference, you will need to submit a Standard Form, SF-15, "Application for 10-point Veterans' Preference."
