Our client, near downtown Indianapolis, was founded over 70 years ago and built on principles to provide the highest quality services, installation, and engineering of mechanical systems. They are seeking an Assistant Controller who wants to be an integral part of their talented team. This individual will report directly to the Controller. The compensation for this role is competitive within the market and is determined based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER:
- Be responsible for accounts payable, billings, and account reconciliations.
- Monitor financial transactions and reports.
- AssistĀ in the preparation of subcontracts of purchase orders.Ā
- Process checks and understand ledgers.
- Support payroll processing and auditing.Ā
- Facilitate the processing of insurance claims.Ā
- MaintainĀ union dues and process from start to finish.
- Work collaboratively with a team of 3 and in conjunction with 5 additional finance roles at a sister company.
- With the support of the Controller, reconcile balance sheets and bank statements monthly.
- HandleĀ billing reconciliation.Ā
- ProcessĀ all new hire packets during the onboarding process.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and monthly WIP.
- Review purchase orders and invoices for AP Postings.
- Back up Controller as needed.
IDEAL CANDIDATES HAVE:
- Bachelor's degreeĀ
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Solid working knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office products
- Experience working within the construction industry
- Familiarity with Foundation software for accounting or similar systems
