Back-end Engineer

Picket is looking for a talented and experienced backend engineer that will work closely with executives, real estate professionals, and engineers. An ideal candidate will pragmatically and relentlessly ideate, prioritize, manage, and refine our technology based on product offerings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience with JavaScript, building, supporting, and scaling distributed RESTful APIs
• Demonstrated extreme proficiency in Node.js
• Knowledge of source version control, specifically GitHub or GitLab
• Strong understanding of Software Architecture, Design Patterns, Clean Code, and following best practices
• Thorough understanding of the CI lifecycle, including QA best practices
• Experience with Microservices Architecture
• Proficiency in SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of Redis
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud and infrastructural services
• Self-motivated, organized, customer-obsessed, with a high level of integrity and ethics
• Sufficient English communication skills (both verbal and written)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with TypeScript
• Demonstrated extreme proficiency in at least one other (than JavaScript) language (preferably Java/Kotlin or other JVM languages)
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL Databases
• Experience in asynchronous event processing in the microservice world (PubSub, Apache Kafka) or similar technologies
• Experience with studying abroad and/or working in global teams
