Cloud Engineer II

The Cloud Engineer develops, implements, optimizes, and maintains cloud-based solutions. Working with a team of Cloud Engineers, this role deploys and debugs infrastructure with best practices, cost efficiency and reliability in mind. Cloud Engineers play a crucial role in the organization's cloud computing strategy and ensure seamless integration of cloud services to meet business needs. The ideal candidate for this role will not only have strong technical aptitude, but will also be a self-starter, a problem-solver, a continuous learner and a flexible collaborator.

• Writes, communicates, socializes, and implements design documents for small and medium sized
features.
• Defines specifications for toolset and process improvements and provide direct feedback to senior
engineers for those tools.
• Designs and implements scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure.
• Optimizes cloud services for cost and performance efficiency.
• Develops automation scripts and tools for deployment and management of cloud resources.
• Troubleshoots complex issues in cloud-based systems and provides root cause analysis.
• Improves internal tooling and processes independently.
• Contributes to other team members design conversations in a meaningful way.
• Provisions Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Builds and manages Kubernetes via AWS Kubernetes Service.
• Build and manage AWS DevOps pipelines for CI/CD and release management workflows.
• Advise and support development efforts for highly available and high throughput applications built-in
Azure or AWS.
• Manage and build Virtual Machine (VM) nodes and pools using AWS Batch
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is expected to mentor new team members and
junior level positions.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent
• 3+ years' hands-on experience with a public Cloud provider (Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred
• AWS Certification is preferred
• Proficiency in Linux Administration
• Experience supporting/maintaining application deployed in AWS proficiency with restful API including TLS
• Experience with CI/CD and IaC tools (GitHub Actions, Terraform, etc.)
• Experience with networking including DNS, routing and load balancing
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability and willingness to train and mentor Cloud Engineer I's
• Ability to help Cloud Engineer I team members break down work into small, achievable chunks while establishing best engineering processes
