In this role you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers) where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
This role focuses on designing and implementing backend services using Python ensuring robust API development and smooth integration within AWS-based environments. The position involves writing efficient secure and reusable code integrated into CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with front‑end teams and other stakeholders. You will participate in code reviews maintain documentation and help shape event‑driven and RESTful architectures that support scalable applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Python backend development
- Strong knowledge of Python API frameworks preferably FastAPI
- Experience with SQL databases and data modeling
- Hands‑on experience developing and deploying applications on AWS
- Data processing expertise with Pandas or Polars
- Familiarity with AWS Lambda and event‑driven architectures
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs in distributed systems
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as GitLab CI or AWS CodePipeline
- Understanding of secure coding testing and code review practices
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and specifications
