Controller - Industry Leader

A well-established industry leader is seeking a talented and dynamicControllerto lead and elevate their accounting operations. The Controller will play a key leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, driving process improvements, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. A mix of private industry and public accounting experience is required. Experience working for a complex, mid-large organization within the manufacturing, production or logistics sectors is preferred. ControllerResponsibilities include: • Lead and manage the Accounting department, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting functions. • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. • Drive continuous improvement of Accounting processes and systems. • Provide mentorship, development, and performance management for accounting staff. • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulatory standards. • Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and other departments to support organizational goals. • Lead audits and liaise with external auditors and advisors. Controller Requirements include: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. • Prior experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national/regional firm a plus). • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a management role. • Experience working for amid-large, complex organization. • Background inmanufacturing, production, or logisticsenvironments is highly desirable. • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to leadership. • Proven ability to drive change and lead teams through process improvements. • Strong systems aptitudewith the ability to quickly learn and master new ERP and financial platforms. • Demonstrated success in becoming a subject matter expert in systems and using technology to improve financial processes. • Strong understanding of financial operations within manufacturing, production, or logistics environments. • Demonstrated success in improving financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities. • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
