Cost Control Engineer

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing costs and ensuring financial efficiency within our projects. As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and conducting thorough financial analyses to support project management and decision-making processes. Your expertise in technical accounting and various financial software will be essential in maintaining accurate financial records and reports. Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets to ensure financial targets are met. • Conduct cost forecasting and cash flow analysis to predict future financial performance. • Perform general ledger reconciliation and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable. • Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement. • Utilize software such as Xero, Sage, and SAP for effective financial management. • Collaborate with project managers to provide insights on cost control measures. • Prepare detailed reports on budget variances and recommend corrective actions. • Support the implementation of best practices in budgeting and cost management. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. • Proven experience in cost engineering or a similar role within the industry. • Proficiency in technical accounting principles and practices. • Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis. • Familiarity with financial software such as Xero, Sage, or SAP is highly desirable. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
