Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington. LWTech offers 12 bachelor's degrees, 42 associate degrees, and 70 professional certificates in 41 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Typical shift assignments range between Days, Swing and Night. We offer shift differentials for Swing and Night shifts.ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTFacilities and Operations is staffed by 20 people that help manage and operate LWTech’s buildings, infrastructure and grounds. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential DutiesMaintain assigned classrooms, offices, restrooms, kitchens and common areas using commercial/professional cleaning chemicals, tools and equipmentStock/maintain clean and safe custodial closets/storage areasAs needed, provide coverage for team members on leaveReplace burnt out lampsSupport event set up/teardown; furniture movesShovel snow and apply ice melterRemove litter and debris from entry waysParticipate in required skill and safety trainingsPractice healthy/safe work habits and follows accident reporting proceduresComply with local, state, federal laws and follow LWTech’s policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assignedDesired Abilities: Ability to participate in team environment, respectfully and safelyFamiliar with Work Order (CMMS) systemsAbility to respond to urgent or emergency requests/needsAbility to speak other languages
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
CompensationThis is a 40 - hour per week position, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. This is a union covered position. As defined by the current classified bargained agreement, newly hired employees shall be placed between Step 1 $4,123 and Step 5 $4,376 of the salary schedule in Appendix A of the IUOE Bargaining Agreement. Ongoing (Step 6- Step 11) step advancement is defined by the IUOE bargained agreement. Salary placement for current IUOE employees is per the IUOE bargained agreement.
