Data AI Engineer

Solstice Consulting, LLC dba Kin + Carta (Chicago, IL) seeks Data AI Engineer as follows:                                                                   

Responsible for helping clients implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality, all while building intelligent solutions that leverage data; Assisting businesses in making data-informed decisions by enhancing data-infrastructure; Understanding business metrics, defining objectives, and collaborating with data engineering and data science for year-over-year growth with the help of data insights; Using SQL for data retrieval and building python modules in Apache airflow (DAG) for transformation before feeding into ML algorithms; Architecting big data applications and building streaming ETL pipelines for data collection and analysis for identification of revenue growth opportunities; Setup views containing transformed data for Data Science teams; Ensuring data security and proper Identity Access Management; Working with the data ingestion teams and providing them required data models; Building Entity Relationship Models (ERM) for representing the project needs and building respective back-end database schemas; Data Engineering necessary pipelines to fuel data into the schemas and cloud modernization.  This position supervises Senior Analyst Engineer 3 and Analyst Engineer 2.

• Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Big Data/Cloud Data Engineer, ETL Data warehouse specialist, or related occupation.
• Must have experience with the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: 
  • Experience with data cleaning and exploration prior to feature engineering in ML space;
  • Experience understanding client requirements, data modeling, and building ETL pipelines on Azure Cloud platform to facilitate the required downstream processes;
  • Understanding of overlapping business scenarios across silos and building central data repositories with well-maintained security and access; 
  • Understanding on business requirements by interviewing business users and application end users such as data scientists and engineers;
  • Experience developing algorithms related to Machine Learning in Python and leveraging various libraries; 
  • Experience with one or more of the cloud technologies - Azure Data Analytics or Google Cloud Platform Data Analytics; 
  • Experience in advanced SQL and relational databases like SQL Server and NoSQL databases like Cassandra; 
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka; and 
  • Experience with ETL Design and End-to-End ETL Development work.
