Data Engineer Data Architect

You will work closely with product development to understand business logic requirements and data flows and ensure applications are built with flexibility and extensibility (including for adaptation in the cloud) in mind. And, you will help to influence overarching data strategy.

 Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop end to end scalable data applications and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with new product development team to continuously look for ways to improve and enhance data reliability and performance (caching, indexing, etc…).
• Lead the development of data quality tools, frameworks, and processes to ensure accuracy, quality, completeness, and consistency of data.
• Become an expert on system architecture, functionality, and data flows as well as operations, processes and tools. Leverage business and application knowledge to create flexible and robust data solutions.
• Develop complex queries and scripts for business logic implementation using Microsoft SQL Server, Python, and .NET (Entity Framework).
• Streamline and provide escalation support for existing customer database implementations.
• Influence the overarching data strategy and vision for data pipelines and data products.
• Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices.

Skills and Experience

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
• Experience with both traditional relational databases (MS SQL required) as well as cloud-based offerings (such as Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and/or Snowflake)
• Experience leading and owning projects in a technical environment, enabling teams during the software development lifecycle
• Ideally 5 to 7 years of related experience designing data intensive applications, data engineering, and/or as a DBA
• Experience with real time or near real time data ingestion and analysis technologies
• Programming experience with .NET (C#), Python, Java, or Scala
• Comfort with NoSQL databases
• Has an agile mindset, works well under deadlines, is self-motivated, and is driven by results
• Experience in building applications for the cloud or migrating applications to the cloud
• Understanding of the supply chain or distribution domain is a plus
• Experience with modern microservice architecture (RabbitMQ) is a plus
