Job Description

Data Platform is embedded within the Data Operations team whose mission is to provide deezer teams with reliable data, efficient and unified solutions that are easy to use.

Data Platform engineers focus on building & maintaining a reliable, scalable, resource-efficient data platform, services to meet data users’ needs. At Deezer the “Data Platform” refers to the set of tools, services and frameworks available to access data & empower teams.

What you will do:

• Design, develop and improve ingestion & transformation data pipelines 

• Develop, deploy & manage data platform components (notebooks, orchestrator..)

• Ensure, with the support of the tech leader, that all the code written and the architecture is of high quality and scalable

• Participate in the data community by collaborating with other data engineers, analysts and scientists 

• Participate in projects planning, standups and retrospectives

• Being a technical support for your stakeholders

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

• Confirmed experience in data engineering using Big Data technologies

• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks (SQL, Spark/ PySpark, Python /Scala, Airflow)

• Proven experience with data processing facing volume or velocity challenges

• Affinity with Ops topics (CI/CD, monitoring, infrastructure, Finops) and tools (Ansible, Terraform)

• Experience of sharing good practices between teams

• Experience with GCP or other cloud provider

• Experience with kubernetes is a plus

• Excellent communication skills

• Fluent in English
