Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in Apache Flink to join our data team. In this hybrid role, based in Porto, you will be responsible for developing and managing real-time applications using Apache Flink to support and optimize our critical data workflows. If you’re passionate about data engineering and ready to tackle innovative, challenging projects, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance applications in Apache Flink to support real-time data processing needs.
• Optimize performance, ensure scalability, and manage data architecture to support ongoing project growth.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure reliability and efficiency in data applications.
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices in stream and batch processing.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Proven Expertise in Apache Flink: Strong experience in building complex data pipelines and managing Flink clusters.
• Advanced Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java or Scala and SQL, with a track record of developing efficient, reliable code.
• Stream and Batch Processing Knowledge: Deep understanding of real-time and batch processing principles and how to apply them in complex environments.
• Big Data Technologies: Hands-on experience with Hadoop and Spark, and an understanding of their integration within the Flink ecosystem and broader data infrastructure.
• AWS Data Services: Practical experience with AWS data tools and services, integrating them with Flink applications.
• Production-Level Project Experience: Proven experience in managing production projects with Flink using Java or Scala and SQL, with the ability to overcome technical challenges.
