We are seeking a proven DevSecOps Engineer with strong systems, software, and Agile DevSecOps experience to join our team in the Washington Metropolitan Area in support of a DoD customer. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in the IT field focusing on development projects, DevSecOps and technical architecture specifically. This is a client facing position working on client sites as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive DevSecOps methodology to execute government development requirements in test, development and production environments. As a DevSecOps Engineer, an ideal candidate will be part of a team to provide consultative, architectural, program and engineering support for our current DoD customer.
- Create technical and non-technical artifacts including documents
- Evaluate business requirements to identify potential software and hardware, so system architectures can be employed to meet business objectives.
- Assess technical objectives, conduct gap analysis of existing versus needed capability, and identify business requirements.
- Manage cloud Infrastructure automation and infrastructure setup using Infrastructure as Code and Infrastructure as Service principles
- Maintain and update infrastructure automation code developed using Terraform and Pulumi across multiple cloud platforms
- Establish configurable DevSecOps pipelines to continuous integrations / continuous deployments using industry best practices
- Integrate MLOps with the traditional DevSecOps setup
- Provide technical solutions, do hands-on coding, establish code review and SDLC processes, lead teams (if need arises) and other duties as identified
- Advocate for, and ensure appropriate cybersecurity practices are communicated and implemented within application security programs
- Architect and contribute to agile delivery using Open Source tools, microservices approach and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline.
- Delivery through agile practices in a microservices approach using a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline and Open Source tools.
- Identify quality assurance activities such as developing automation testing and conduct peer reviews as needed for the team.
- Monitor, support and troubleshoot Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks for all the application program, for analyzing and troubleshooting production issues.
Work Experience:
- 5 or more years of experience in software development including in managing complex DevSecOps environments for multiple projects
- Extensive expertise in Agile and DevSecOps approaches, and experience using many of the tools common to a Development/Test Tool Suite.
- Experience in implementing DevSecOps practices such as build/release management, automating security processes in CI/CD pipeline, and general automation
- Experience using agile and DevSecOps practices including Git version control with pull/merge requests, automated testing, security scanning, and quality analysis of developed software
- Experience with automated infrastructure setup for multiple projects using DevSecOps automation
- Experience architecting, building, and testing front end and/or back end solutions using cloud services such as AWS.
- Experience with designing and engineering data management / data persistence solutions; preferably with AWS services including RDS and Elasticsearch
- Experience implementing data compliance and governance solutions
- Experience with Docker and/or OCI compliant containers and tooling
- Experience architecting, developing, deploying, and maintaining applications in a CNCF compliant Kubernetes platforms
- Experience with CNCF compliant Kubernetes services such Rancher RKE, AWS EKS, Elastic Stack, and Prometheus
- Experience with DoD security and compliance processes such as RMF, SRGs, STIGs
- Experience with applying STIGs is preferred
- Experience engineering solutions in classified and air gapped environments
- Experience in the following is preferred:
- Deploying and configuring Kubernetes services/architecture with CLI tools like kubectl, kustomize, helm, sops
- Deploying and configuring a Rancher RKE2 cluster on AWS
- Deploying and configuring Big Bang, Helm chart of Helm charts architecture (values passthrough) with persistent volumes
- Deploying and configuring services on k8s, such as Airflow, Istio, Keycloak, GitLab, and all other Big Bang services
- Building custom Docker images, using custom images in Helm chart deployments

- OpenShift, CloudFoundry, OWASP, Fortify, Selenium, Serenity, Spring Framework, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Chef, Packer.
- Microsoft Office including Excel, Office, etc.
Education:
- BS in Computer Science / Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology or related field required, advance Degree is preferred
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
- AWS or any other cloud architect and automation related certificates preferred
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
Communication Skills:
- Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at various levels of the organization
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
Travel:
- Travel to customer site in National Capital Region
Environmental Requirements:
- Mainly sedentary; in an office environment. May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
- Flexible in working extended hours
