Dialogue (VO) Designer

The Gearbox Software Audio team is looking for a full-time, hybrid or remote, Dialogue Designer which will be a member of our internal audio team. This is not a contract position. The primary tasks will be dialogue based and will work closely with both our Narrative and Design teams. This position reports to the Associate Director of Dialogue Design.

The goal of this role is to ensure the dialogue experience for our players is a satisfying one and will encompass recording, editing, mastering, implementing, testing, and bug fixing.

What You Will Do:

• Record, edit and master dialogue to consistent specifications.
• Implement dialogue into the game engine using internal proprietary and middleware tools.
• Work with designers to create character script templates.
• Create suitable dialog processing utilizing both real-time and post-production effects.
• Work with AI designers to tune dialogue behavior in game.
• Work with mission design team to ensure dialog is triggering as intended.
• Work with code to support dialogue system needs.

Candidate Qualifications:

• 2 years' experience with dialogue recording, editing, and mastering.
  • *** Remote recording engineering a plus ***
• Experience implementing dialogue assets utilizing Wwise and Unreal or similar.
• Experience with script building and organization.
• Experience working in either AAA game development or through the full development cycle on smaller titles.
• Experience working in a multitrack editor such as Nuendo or ProTools
• An understanding of restoration software such as iZotope RX
• Takes feedback well, able to work in a team environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Performance capture experience a plus
