About the Role

Caribou is looking for an experienced individual with 10+ years of auto loan servicing experience especially as it relates to all aspects of delinquency management, collections, re-marketing and deficiency management . You will be responsible for working closely with the servicer management to build a successful third party auto loan servicing platform and managing all aspects of loan collections. You will also be responsible for building a team of professionals who are experienced in delinquency and collection processes. 

  • Assist in the selection of a third party servicer with best in class delinquency, collection and remediation services, including re-marketing 
  • Attend third party servicer due diligence 
  • Recommend servicer
  • Prepare and present detailed workflows between servicer and caribou
  • Identify and ensure all delinquency and collection processes are compliant with all 50 states regulations
  • Work closely with product teams and lenders/investors to implement delinquency and collection strategies acceptable to lenders and Caribou
  • Participate in the  process to review all agreements and documents with legal and compliance
  • Work with technology and engineering teams to identify and implement system requirements
  • Work with servicer manager and lending product teams to pitch service offering
  • Oversee the portfolio reporting process as it relates to delinquency and collection reporting
  • Able to hire and build and manage teams

About You

You’ve been a successful servicing professional in the auto finance servicing business working for banks, finance companies or other startups. You are proactive, built and managed teams and are able to work at a high growth startup. You:

  • Have extensive experience with engaging and building and overseeing third party auto or other consumer product servicer platforms. 10+ years preferred
  • Deep understanding and experience with various stages of consumer servicing requirements especially as it relates to delinquency and collection management
  • Comfortable working with various systems
  • Up to date with the basic regulatory and legal requirements related to consumer loan servicing
  • Familiar with servicing requirements for capital markets and securitization products
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong management skills and directing others
  • Strong process management experience 
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Able to problem solve
  • Team player 
  • Able to work with company wide teams

  • This role can be based out of Caribou offices in Washington, DC or Denver, CO. Alternatively, this role may work remotely from a state where Caribou operates*. However, this role will require attendance at occasional in-person team meetings. As a result, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be eligible for this position.
