We are seeking a Director, Product - Developer Platform to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:

• Play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, vision, and execution of our developer platform, which serves as the backbone for developers working on groundbreaking clean energy solutions. You will lead an ambitious product team, collaborating closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to deliver a platform that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our developer community.
• Deep Technical Expertise. Your teams are building things like message queues, API gateways, identity service, event-driven reporting, data catalogs, microservices, and feature stores to power Uplight's products.
• Horizontal Leadership. You will need to guide and influence an org to prospect and invest in these powerful but long-term capabilities and growth levers.
• Experience in leading the introduction of new products, including product discovery, concept development, launching new offerings, including pricing and packaging, and iterating to scale.
• Systems Thinking. You will need to help stitch together the value story across a complex technical and product ecosystem.
• We expect our leaders to be experts in their domains, not just general managers. You will be able to zoom in to guide your teams through the most critical problems and zoom out to guide the organization toward our long-term vision. You will deliver all of this through Platform teams based in both the US, Canada, and India.

What you will contribute:

• Develop and articulate a clear product strategy for the clean energy technology developer platform.
• Drive the evolution of the platform to meet the changing demands of clean energy developers and their end customers.
• Advocate for the developer community, ensuring their needs and pain points are addressed in the platform development process.
• Identify and pursue strategic partnerships to enhance the platform's capabilities and expand its ecosystem.
• You will lean into Horizontal Leadership to guide our organization - both Technical and Non-Technical - through the platform investments required to scale by an order of magnitude.
• You will manage, grow, and recruit world-class talent and set the pace of the organization - both within and beyond your direct team.
• In partnership with our Engineering and Go To Market leadership teams, you will shape our platform strategy & roadmap, quantify and frame our investments, and drive alignment across the organization. You will make high-quality, high-value decisions in the face of ambiguity.
• You will define, monitor, measure, analyze, and report on key metrics for your business

What you bring to Uplight:

• 9+ years of experience in Product Management
• 5+ years of experience managing group and technical product managers
• Practical experience with data platforms, microservices, and infrastructure.
• Proven track record of driving business outcomes via the successful introduction of new products
• Systems thinker with an ability to digest highly complex, ambiguous dynamics into simple options and path forward.
• Inspiring people leader who can motivate and set a healthy pace for the team and isn't afraid to get into the details when they need to.
• Proven track record of successfully leading product teams in the development of complex software platforms, preferably in the clean energy or technology sector.
• Strong understanding of developer ecosystems, APIs, and SDKs, with experience in creating tools that empower developers.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate and lead in a rapidly evolving industry.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.

Bonus points:

• Experience in a technical/engineer role and comfortable discussing engineering systems in detail.
• Experience operating in a fast pace startup.
• Proven track record of successfully leading product teams in the development of complex software platforms, preferably in the clean energy or technology sector

Salary Range: $170,000 to $210,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
