JOB DSHS Fircrest Custodian 1 Are you a task-oriented person looking for a fulfilling position? Employees assigned to a duty station in King County will receive a 5% premium pay calculated from their base salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Some of what you'll do: The Custodian 1 will be primarily responsible for a variety of housekeeping and custodial duties within Fircrest, a Residential Habilitation Center (RHC) for people with intellectual disabilities. The Custodian 1 responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Cleaning sinks, toilets, mirrors, walls, partitions, windows, ledges, and mop boards in facility bathroomsKeeping restrooms and storage closets properly stocked with suppliesVacuuming carpets, and floor mats, and sweeping outside porches, steps, walkways, and areas where dumpsters are locatedWashing walls, ceilings, vents, lights, and windows inside and outside the buildingShampooing carpets, dust mops, and wet mopping floors (moving furniture as needed)Scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing floorsScrubbing tile floors, manually and/or with an auto scrubberEmptying garbage cans and taking garbage to the dumpsterPutting linens away on shelves from hamper cartsPreparing monthly supply orders What we are looking for: Ability to use equipment in general housekeeping work, such as vacuum cleaners and electrical floor scrubbing/polishing equipmentAbility to use supplies safely to refinish (strip or wax or top scrub) tile, concrete, and wood floors, and clean carpet/upholsteryAbility to mix cleaning products to appropriate ratiosAbility to work with various types of moving equipmentAbility to apply cleaning methods and safety practicesAbility to keep records and maintain inventoriesAbility to receive instructions, assimilate the information, and act according to those instructionsAbility to be patient, tolerant, and respectful towards others, especially those who may demonstrate intellectual/developmental disabilitiesAbility to respond to client and facility emergenciesAbility to effectively communicate with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the role Who should apply?Positions typically require a valid Washington State Driver's License and a minimum of age 18Questions?
