DSHS Lake Burien Registered Nurse 2 Join our team as an RN and take part in working at our new facility! The Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility opened in July of 2024, with support from the Department of Social and Health Services, the Department of Children, Youth and Families, Health Care Authority, MultiCare, and Seattle Children’s Hospital. This facility has 12 beds and 108 full-time employees with potential growth to 24 beds and 196+ full-time employees. The property was designed with children and youth in mind and features accessible spaces for onsite educational services and therapies, as well as access to outdoor space. This new therapeutic facility is for youth, age 13 and older, who have co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities with complex needs such as behavioral health issues or substance use disorders. You’ll provide professional nursing services including planning, assessing, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, and patients' medical and psychiatry needs, with a focus on providing the highest quality patient care. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. King County employees receive a free ORCA card for transportation use. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Some of what you’ll do: Provide safe, therapeutic patient care and coordination of servicesAttend to the general care of patients, and provide emotional and physical comfort and safety; maintain an attractive and comfortable environmentGive assistance and guidance in cleanliness, grooming, rest, activities, and nourishmentAssist with the habilitation of patients according to the treatment planExamine patients to determine medical care needs; revise treatment plans based on observations and recommendations of physicians and other care personnelTreat minor ailments and perform first-aidAdminister and oversee the administration of medicationsAssist with physical examinations, techniques, and procedures; train residence care staff in handling multiple handicapped casesObserve and record the physical and mental conditions of patientsParticipate in education programs and treatment team conferencesWe’re looking for those with a valid Washington State license to practice as a Registered Nurse Desired: CPR CertifiedAbility to provide good judgment in supporting clients in crises by emphasizing the helping relationship using program-approved methodsAble to safely intervene to protect clients from harm to themselves or others using facility-approved methods and techniquesQuestions?
