Job Description
Overview This position will continuously promote a safe working environment for all associates while complying with applicable federal, state, local, safety and environmental regulations. The EHS specialist will help support all corporate initiatives, policies, and values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Conduct weekly new hire safety orientation and manage applicable documentation requirements. · Conduct medical record audits, follow-ups, and investigation of all ITP (Incident & Treatment Procedures). · Conduct environmental audits. · Follow-up with supervisors to ensure WSR (Witness Statement Report) are being filled out if applicable for incidents. · Help facilitate workers compensation appointments and paperwork. · Evaluate operations, processes, and equipment in the facility to determine compliance with all safe operating policies, facility written programs and OSHA requirements. · Coordinate and lead safety initiatives throughout the facility to ensure the compliance with all applicable standards. This would include, but not limited to: Safety Committee, First Responders and coordinate the management of required safety documentation for the facility (JSAs, Machine Guarding & PPE Assessments, New Equipment Evaluations.) · Continuously review and update all Safety written programs (LOTO, PIT, Hazcom, etc.). · Champion Change Management and continues improvement initiatives. · Coordinate investigations of plant related incidents with corrective actions. · Collect, consolidate, and analyze data using database and spreadsheet applications. · Promote and demonstrate safe work practices and safety awareness through all levels of management and shop floor. · Assist with development and follow up on annual Safety Self Assessments and Safety Plan. · Manage and maintain safety department inventory (PPE, Spill Containment, Signage and First Aid Supplies). · Perform other duties as required | ||||||||||||||||||||

Knowledge and Skills Requirements • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Ability to read and correctly interpret the OSHA 1910 standards. • 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing and safety setting or relevant safety educational background. • Strong people skills with all levels of plant employees. • Demonstrated commitment to safety. • Ability to prioritize multiple on-going tasks to meet deadlines. • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. Language Skills (Written and verbal): · Good written and verbal communication skills required · Bilingual is a plus.
Mathematical Skills · Average Machines, Tools, or Equipment Used
· General knowledge of machine tools and equipment preferred. Education and Experience · High school or GED required · Bachelor’s degree in safety and Environmental Management or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required. Professional Licenses or Certifications
· OSHA 30 · First Aid, CPR & AED
