ELA Teacher (Middle School- Grade 6-8)

Middle Village Prep is a 6th through 8th grade charter school in Middle Village Queens. We are located on the Christ the King High School Campus with a focus on serving the surrounding community. We are currently looking for a NYS Certified ELA Teacher for Grades 6-8 who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level team. The position requirements are as follows: • Candidate is to be responsible for the delivery of ELA Common Core Curriculum based lessons to students • responsible for the planning of the yearly ELA Scope and Sequence, lesson planning and lesson delivery for the entire school year. • Ideal candidates for this role must possess a deep understanding of grade level appropriate content knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons day in and day out. • Provide a range of instructional, management, and assessment strategies to meet the different needs of students • Create thoughtful and engaging unit and lesson plans daily • Complete progress reports and report cards in accordance with the schedule • Attend and actively participate in all meetings including, grade level meetings, and PD. • Participate in creating, revising, administering, and grading assessments • Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed, as well as on-going parent communication Ideal candidates must possess at minimum an Initial Certificate in teaching ELA Grades 7-12 Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,630.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Health savings account • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • Monday to Friday Experience: • Teaching: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: • Teaching Certification (Required) Work Location: In person
