Engineering Project Manager
Lead Capital Projects That Drive Manufacturing Excellence
Sun Chemical seeks an experiencedEngineering Project Managerto join the Group Engineering organization and lead high-impactCAPEX projectsacross the Americas region. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex manufacturing improvement initiatives from conception through successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution:
• Plan and execute process development and optimization activities, CAPEX measures, and projects within budget, time, quality, and safety parameters
• Manage all project phases from initial concept through scoping, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup
• Prepare comprehensive project approval documentation and business cases
• Develop detailed designs, cost estimates, time schedules, resource plans, and risk analyses including HAZOPs
Technical Management:
• Specify and select manufacturing services, machinery, and equipment
• Manage engineering consultants and contractors to ensure project success
• Ensure appropriate project and technical documentation throughout all phases
• Evaluate process optimization opportunities and conduct troubleshooting initiatives for safety and reliability improvements
Stakeholder Coordination:
• Coordinate project activities with internal teams including R&D, Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Legal, M&A, and Procurement
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including authorities, suppliers, and contractors
• Ensure full compliance with internal and external best practices, guidelines, regulations, and legislation
Continuous Improvement:
• Participate in post-completion project evaluations including KPI analysis and lessons learned sessions
• Conduct process studies and optimization assessments to identify improvement opportunities
• Support troubleshooting efforts and safety/reliability enhancement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 5-10 years of experience in project engineering or comparable technical roles
• Direct project management experience highly preferred
Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of chemical processing, grinding, and dispersing technology
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project
• SAP knowledge preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
