Job Description

About Glia

Our award-winning technology powers conversations with customers for some of the world’s largest enterprises. We believe that combining the human touch with technology is the best way to create amazing customer experiences. When human abilities such as problem-solving, creative thinking and relationship building are enhanced with technology... magical moments happen.

The opportunity

Our Engineering team moves fast and doesn’t break our highly available, multi-region, feature-robust, continuously-delivered, AWS-K8s-hosted, microservice-powered, mission-critical system. Your mission as part of the Engineering team will be to apply cutting edge technology, like Elixir and Kubernetes, to help some of the largest, most-respected companies in the world better connect with their customers.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer at Glia, you’ll be responsible for creating Elixir and Ruby microservices, backed by Postgres and NoSQL stores, like Redis and S3. All of our services run on Kubernetes, in Docker containers. You will have the benefit of close supervision and guidance of more experienced team members. Your primary focus is to learn and understand software development processes and familiarizing yourself with the tools and technologies we use while solving actual business problems with support from others. Curiosity and ability to learn fast independently is expected. Since all our product teams are self-reliant, at some point you will work on some features that require front-end work as well. The exact amount will vary depending on the projects your team undertakes.

Requirements

  • Strong desire to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Graduated from University and ready for full-time employment
  • At least 6 months of hands-on experience on a production project
  • Results-oriented with a high attention to detail and quality
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Self-starter with the energy, drive and determination to accomplish goals

Benefits

  • Stock Options and Competitive salary
  • Professional development support  (trainings, courses, conferences, books, etc)
  • Access to all the latest tools and equipment you’ll need
  • Sports compensation, reimbursement for therapy, counseling sessions
  • Team events: annual employee awards, internal hackathons, and a dozen cool events from cooking to the Glia olympic games :)
  • Generous referral bonuses
  • Diversity: 25 countries represented
